About the event

Keeping our promise to connect ALL of Cleveland with free, inclusive bike rides this year, we head way out to the southeast part of the city for our first ever ride from the Lee-Harvard neighborhood.

One of Cleveland's newer neighborhoods, Lee-Harvard was primarily developed in the mid-20th century, and was racially integrated from the beginning. It was originally pitched as Cleveland's "suburb in the city," and you'll see why when you notice all the modest, well-kept mid-century homes surrounding pleasant Jo Ann Park, where we gather beginning at 6 PM for a 7 PM ride.

Slow Roll is partnering for this ride with Jimmie Woody and The LAByrinth, an arts incubator that Woody envisions lifting up and breathing creative life into the Lee-Harvard neighborhood. The LAByrinth will be an artistic multiplex for all kinds of creators - visual artists, musicians, spoken word, crafts, and more. Woody envisions a socially conscious third space and incubator for Black and brown artists and innovators, bringing a New York aesthetic to our city, as well as a catalyst for the Lee-Harvard neighborhood to become Cleveland's next cultural haven. Black Spaces Matter; Black Art Matters. Woody will be on hand to talk about his project before the ride and answer questions.

Stick around after the ride, too, because we'll have an ice cream truck (from Event Novelty Truck LLC) waiting and eager to satisfy your need for a post-ride treat.

As always, gas-powered vehicles are not permitted on Slow Roll. But if it can roll solely under human or electric power, you're cleared for takeoff. Thanks for understanding.
